Pulls Out What Your Cleanser Leaves Behind

Charcoal's porous surface binds oil and grime and takes them with it. Your natural oils stay put.

Three dark charcoal bars labeled 'charcoal' are arranged on a light stone surface with green leaves, lime slices, and scattered charcoal powder. Two inset photos on the right show women's faces with text reading 'WITH REGULAR USE' above and below, suggesting a skincare or beauty product result.

How Activated Charcoal Draws Out Impurities

Stylised cross-section of skin with one pore, progressing left to right: the pore packed with congestion, porous charcoal granules drawing it upward, and the pore left clear
  1. Congested Pore

    impurities trapped inside

  2. Adsorption

    porous surface pulls debris out

  3. Clear Pore

    nothing left to trap

Activated charcoal is a highly porous material — its surface is riddled with microscopic pockets that give it an enormous surface area relative to its size.

When it touches skin, oil, dirt and other impurities bind to that porous surface through a process called adsorption, rather than being dissolved or stripped away chemically.

This means charcoal draws out congestion sitting in the pore without disrupting the skin's natural oils, leaving pores clearer and skin balanced rather than tight or over-cleaned.

"Leaves skin feeling refreshed and clear. Surprisingly, it doesn't cause dry skin. Foam isn't as rich as commercial bars but it doesn't really matter."

Why Most Bar Soaps Don't Work

Most bars on the shelf aren't soap at all. They're detergent bars — built to lather hard and smell strong, which is a very different job from leaving your skin better than it found it.

They often:

  • ❌ Use sulfates that strip your skin's natural oils
  • ❌ Lean on synthetic fragrance rather than real botanicals
  • ❌ Rely on palm oil and cheap filler bases
  • ❌ Leave skin tight and squeaky, which reads as "clean" but isn't
  • ❌ Trigger the rebound oil that starts the cycle again tomorrow

So you moisturise to undo what you just washed off — and the bar that caused it is still in the shower.

Activated Charcoal Soap works differently.

Activated charcoal binds to the oil and grime already sitting in your pores and lifts it away when you rinse, instead of scouring the surface to get at it. Paired with saponified plant oils and shea butter, it clears congestion without the squeaky, stripped feeling that sends oil production into overdrive. Handmade in small batches in Australia, palm oil free, with no SLS, parabens or artificial fragrance.

Why we made this

We had hair care. We had facial care. The soaps came next to finish the range — the same standard applied to the rest of you.

They're palm oil-free and made from organic raw materials. That isn't a marketing line; it's the reason they cost what they do, and the reason we make them in small batches rather than order them in.

We have answers!

Questions?

Can't find the answer you're looking for? Visit our FAQs or chat with our friendly team

Will this dry out my skin?

No. Our bar soaps are formulated without SLS or harsh sulfates. Each bar is enriched with skin-nourishing botanicals that cleanse without over-drying.

What makes these different from supermarket soap?

Most supermarket soaps are detergent bars made with synthetic agents. Tasic Pure Oils bars are handcrafted in small batches using plant-based ingredients, with organic raw materials wherever we can source them. No fillers, no nasties.

Will this help with dull or uneven skin?

Each bar is made with active plant botanicals that cleanse gently, helping skin look clearer and more even over time.

Are these suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. All four bars are free from SLS, parabens, and synthetic fragrance. Patch test before full use if you have known sensitivities.

Why switch to a plant-based bar now?

Your skin absorbs what you put on it every day. Switching to a clean, plant-based bar is one of the simplest swaps you can make.
